The Bruins managed to shut out the Lightning Saturday night, despite their growing list of injuries. In addition to the currently injured Bergeron, McAvoy, Chara, and Debrusk; David Backes was added to the list as a skate caught him in the thigh. He left the game bleeding and required stitches, but don't expect this to keep him out of the lineup for long.

Backes, Pastrnak and Riley Nash were able to score in the shutout effort, with Krug picking up assists on all three goals. Pastrnak's goal was my personal favorite as he rushed through an open lane and beat Vasilevisky on one of his famous behind-the-back save attempts.

Other than the goal scoring, there was some more great news from player performance. Nick Holden and Kevin Miller lead the team in TOI and were able to shut down one of the most lethal offensive teams in the league. The Bs were able to limit Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos to a combined 4 shots on goal; a major feat in it of itself. Holden was called up to the top defensive pairing after the Bs lost Chara against Carolina, and he did not disappoint in this performance.
